This film series explores some of America’s thorniest issues—criminal justice, housing equity, education, immigration, voting rights, labor, Flint’s water crisis—by telling the stories of the people who get caught on those thorns.

Featuring Neighborhood Happy Hour, enjoy live music from WYCE selected bands, grab a paintbrush and participate in a mural painting, attend an exclusive Tour of Hidden Downtown Gardens, visit gallery exhibitions, and splurge at vendors, pop up shops and sales along the Avenue for the Arts.

The Grand Rapids Downtown Market is hosting a brand new event on July 29, 2017. Salsas will be available for sampling from 10 Grand Rapids area restaurants. Those in attendance will be able to vote for “Best Salsa in GR."

Love music and your city? The free, weekend-long event is Aug. 19 and 20 at Rosa Parks Circle in downtown Grand Rapids and is seeking volunteers to help distribute event programs, work the merchandise tent and assist with other tasks that help the popular summertime event run smoothly.

The Ai Weiwei exhibit at Frederik Meijer Gardens & Sculpture Park will be on display until August 20, 2017. It is the artist's first exhibition at a botanical garden and sculpture park anywhere in the world.

WYCE, GRTV, our Education Department, our IT department for non-profits, Wealthy Theatre and The Rapidian are all hosting events this summer to help engage you in making and enjoying media.

On Sunday, July 16, 2017 from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. visitors will receive free general admission to explore the Museum’s three floors of core exhibits.

During the week of July 31-August 4, 2017 we will be working with a group of middle school aged kids representing a variety of congregations.
