Heartside presents Fuzzy Jane fall showcase for First Friday

Heartside Ministry will be featuring artwork of Jane VanDommelen (Fuzzy Jane) from 1998-2018 at our Art Gallery and Studio! Please join us for her Artist Reception on Friday, October 5, 2018 from 6-8pm

Presenting 'The Densest Matter in the Universe,' Dr. Edward Brown will explain how recent discoveries in neutron stars and black holes have ushered in a new era of multi-messenger astronomy involving light, neutrinos and gravity waves.

Grand Rapids Symphony presents cutting-edge new music by four emerging composers entered in ArtPrize 2018.

The event benefits Downtown Market’s nonprofit education foundation including culinary medicine, job training and entrepreneur programs. Tickets include libations and a strolling dinner throughout the Market Hall featuring exclusive small plate dining experiences from various Market vendors.

This year, visitors to the Downtown Market can not only see more art than ever before, with eleven large-scale installations in one location, but also take part in public events and taste locally-made food and drinks all in one location.

The Urban Institute for Contemporary Arts (UICA) 2018 ArtPrize exhibition is an expansion of their current public art initiative, the Exit Space Project. The artists participating include; Alan Compo, Nick Nortier, Colby Roanhorse, design collective Evas’ve led by Elyse Flynn, and Kimberly Lavon.
