Lighthouse Communities is partnering with Michigan Voice to lead local civic engagement efforts. Michigan Voice is a state based collaboration formed in 2005 to improve long-term coordination and communication among nonprofit civic engagement organizations in Michigan. The collaboration's nonpartisan mission is to engage underrepresented or socially responsible voters in the democratic process and to establish collective action around a common issue agenda. This is nonpartisan activity meant simply to give a voice to those who are often underrepresented as another means for neighborhood engagement.
Registration will be available at the Lighthouse informational booths set-up once a week at various locations in the community. Voter registration deadline is October 4th for the November 2, 2010 general elections! You can also contact Takara Taylor, Community Liaison at 451-9140 or takara@lcgr.net.
