B.O.B.’s Brewery in Grand Rapids and Atwater Brewery in Detroit have partnered to create Michigunder, a collaborative beer and official ArtPrize 2015 entry. $1 of every pint of Michigunder and 100% of all Michigander merchandise sold during ArtPrize will go to Artists Creating Together (ACT) 100% of any prize money generated from the entry will also be donated directly to ACT.

Jason Schrider of Atwater Brewery and John Svodoba of B.O.B.’s Brewery joined together to create this Michigan collaborative beer. Michigander is a German Dortmunder Lager that is crisp, bright, and snappy.

ACT is a local nonprofit that empowers people with disabilities to learn, grow, and celebrate through the arts. Each year, they serve over 5,000 people with disabilities.

“This partnership celebrates what our community takes so much pride in: the spirit of collaboration, inclusion, creativity, and of course - craft beer,” said ACT Development Director Emily Evers. “We are honored to benefit from this unique, cross-state alliance. We celebrate all arts and all abilities at ACT and we look forward to seeing how this will create opportunities for our many programs that impact people with and without disabilities throughout West Michigan.”

Artwork submissions for the Michigander logo were obtained and curated by ACT, utilizing their network of Michigan artists. The winning piece was created by Ypsilanti artist, Morgaine Tempest Fambrough and will be featured on all promotional materials, tap handles, t-shirts, glassware and merchandise.

The beer will be sold throughout the entire duration of ArtPrize at The B.O.B., Atwater Brewing, Gilmore Collection restaurants and other Grand Rapids establishments who have chosen to participate. These fellow Grand Rapids establishments include: City Flats Hotel, Courtyard by marriot, GP Sports, Holiday Inn, JW Marriot, Peppino’s, Flanagan’s, Tavern on the Square, Bistro Bella Vita, Gardella’s, Rockwell/Republic and Mulligan’s.
