In celebration of UICA’s new building opening in July 2011 (7/11), UICA is selling over 700 pieces of artwork for $25 or $50. This salon-style exhibition and fundraiser features works of art from regional, national and international artists of all ages. The proceeds will fund emerging artist stipends and youth scholarships for UICA’s nationally recognized youth program, ArtWorks. The art is available for puchase at UICA until September 4, 2011.

UICA

Founded in 1977, the Urban Institute for Contemporary Arts (UICA) is Michigan’s largest contemporary arts center and a dynamic, multidisciplinary laboratory for the advancement of the art of our time. UICA actively challenges both artists and audiences to new levels of dialogue, creative pursuit, reflection, and illumination through: groundbreaking visual arts exhibitions, thought-provoking performances and presentations, studio programs for local artists, cutting edge films, as well as educational and expressive arts programs for youth and adults.
