We build community when we share our stories - whether they be a memory, an experience or just simply telling what we think is great about this place. STORY MATTERS. is a story collecting project from The Rapidian and GRTV.

The Rapidian's story fort made an appearance at the "Break it Down, Make it Better" event, put on by the Avenue for the Arts and hosted by the Urban Institute for Contemporary Art (UICA) on Saturday, March 1. Roxanne Buhl from Western Michigan University talks about the growth they've seen happen around them in the Heartside neighborhood, and how they are now asking questions about what the community around them wants and needs. She tells the story of bringing her teen son downtown and having him discover that he lives in a cool city.
