Millie M. is a member of the GAAH Press Club, and below is the autobiography she wrote from a third-person perspective.
Millie M. is a student at Cesar E. Chavez that won first place in a spelling bee. Millie recently became a member of the GAAH Press Club. She also speaks two different languages (Spanish and English). Millie is one of the most active persons I know. She loves to swim. Millie is also funky and cool. She loves to pick out her clothes. But one person she admires is her mom, Maria M.
The GAAH Press Club, a program of the Cook Arts Center, provides youth in the Grandville Avenue neighborhood with the opportunity to find, develop and share their creative voices. Being a member of the Press Club not only empowers youth by helping them develop their sense of self but also encourages them to become creative problem solvers, enhance communication skills and increase their chances of continuing on to higher education. Through the Press Club, neighborhood youth can also raise awareness about local events and happenings that are important to members of the local community.
