On Monday, August 6 Brewery Vivant will be hosting their first Cantina. It will be an entire day devoted to Star Wars. They will be screening Star Wars Episodes IV, V, and VI and have games for attendees to play, complete with prizes.

"The Brewery Vivant Cantina is the brainchild of our beloved bartender and celebration specialist [Jonathan] Ward," says Rick Muschiana, Abbott of Beer at the brewery. "He's got a real touch with drawing people in and an imagination for funky events like this one."

The games at the event include Sith vs. Jedi tug-o-war, Star Wars trivia, costume contest and a beer re-naming contest. Prizes are said to be from Ward's very own childhood Star Wars collection.

"I'm excited to see the single tear roll down his cheek as he gives away some of his childhood playthings," adds Muschiana.

In addition to the event on Monday, Brewery Vivant has also been busy planning their expansion as a comapny. "We're all really excited about the new equipment. We've just been getting hammered on beer all summer long, so to us it means better flow out into the marketplace and space dedicated for bigger batches, which means more room for our brewers to play with smaller specialty beers as well," says Muschiana.

"This will also enable us to open up the Chicago market this fall. The bottom line, more beer for everyone."
