THE FEED
In the fall of 2009, Sisters Maureen Geary and Mary Navarre of the Dominican Sisters ~ Grand Rapids, visited the Social Work Center--Centro de Obras Sociales—a maternity clinic that delivers about 300 babies each month. The Dominican Sisters have been supporting the clinic for more than 40 years with womanpower by sending Sisters to work in a medical-social capacity and financially. Members of the community’s Leadership Team make regular visits to assess the needs of the clinic and of those Sisters who assist in the programs. The pictures in this slideshow demonstrate the poverty and need, but also beauty of the countryside and the welcoming warmth of the people. For more information about what the Sisters are doing abroad, link to the Ministry Abroad page of their website.
