Waterfront Film Festival hosts Oscar Night® America
Glamorous event includes special guests, auction and Academy Awards®
Grand Rapids, Mich., Feb. 16, 2012 – Waterfront Film Festival hosts West Michigan’s only
Academy-sanctioned celebration of Hollywood’s biggest night on Feb. 26 with Oscar Night®
America at The Goei Center.
As one of only 49 official parties in the nation, the celebration starts with a red carpet walk, the
flash of paparazzi and a champagne welcome. Attendees will enjoy live music from Delilah
DeWylde & The Lost Boys while having the opportunity to bid on a series of amazing auction
items, including recreational outings, professional sporting events and culinary getaways.
Oscar Night® America tickets are $65 and VIP tickets are $125, which includes a champagne
greeting, music, food, open bar, VIP swag bag, official commemorative Oscar® poster and
official Academy Awards® show program, as well as reserved seating. Tables are $1,000 and
provide an entourage of 10 with all the perks of individual VIP tickets at a $250 savings.
The doors at The Goei Center, 818 Butterworth St. SW, open at 5:30 p.m. and the live
broadcast of the 84th Academy Awards® shown on multiple big screens via ABC affiliate WZZM
TV-13 begins at 8 p.m.
Food stations throughout the evening will include delicious offerings from renowned
establishments including Butch’s Dry Dock and The Curragh of Holland, White House Bistro and
Restaurant Toulouse of Saugatuck, Respite of Douglas, Fennville Station of Fennville, Tavern
on the Square, El Barrio Mexican Grill and YoChef’s Catering Co. of Grand Rapids, Anything
Goes Catering of Grand Haven, and Mia & Grace Bakery Bistro of Muskegon.

• Brian Vander Ark, musician/writer and actor, best known as lead vocalist for The
Verve Pipe currently touring as an acoustic duo with Jeff Daniels.
• Hopwood DePree, member of the Michigan Film Office Advisory Council and
producer of the soon-to-be-released What’s Wrong with Virginia, written by Academy

Award winner, Dustin Lance Black, and starring Academy Award winner, Jennifer
Connelly, and Academy Award nominee, Ed Harris.
• Marcia Fishman, executive director for Screen Actors Guild Detroit and member of

• Gretchen Minnhaar, Grand Rapids-based visual artist, Chiaroscuro Film Series
president and Oscar party honorary co-chair
