New food truck to serve Grand Rapids, surrounding area

Gettin' Fresh, a new food truck serving West Michigan, will be celebrating its grand opening with brunch service on May 3 at the White Flame Brewing Co. in Hudsonville, and will be a regular part of Movies in the Park downtown this summer.

The event at Wealthy Theatre will feature a performance directed by Arts in Motion Studio, which will include over a hundred Disabled performers, ACTion Drummers, paper mache birds, dancers and a choir.

Blue Spoon Soup & Spuds, operated by Goodwill Industries, will open on April 16 and serve as a restaurant and catering training operation.

The UICA, KCAD and the GRAM are hosting 26 artists for the "Art of the Lived Experiment" exhibition during the DisArt Festival, highlighting the art of Disabled artists.

New app debuts for DisArt Festival

The "Access UICA" app was designed specifically for DisArt Festival, and is created to be more inclusive of the needs of Disabled people.

Spoke Folks, Boston Square Community Bikes and the Greater Grand Rapids Bicycle Coalition are all working to make biking accessible and safe in our city.

Local yoga instructors Ashley Yost and Mali Jane aim to make yoga accessible with their new venture, AM Yoga.

Great Lakes Commonwealth of Letters is making their facility more accessible for local writers with a membership by extending the hours writers can come in to use their headquarters to work on their craft.

On March 18, Amore Trattoria will host the spring Rapidian Night Out at 6:30 p.m. A generous portion of every ticket goes to supporting The Rapidian.

A local business woman's love for Grand Rapids inspired her new company. To keep her going, she finds encouragement meeting with a community of women entrepreneurs.
