Grand Rapids, MI- This November, The Pyramid Scheme offers a wide range of musical acts.  Here are a few highlights!

 

 

Thursday, November 1: The Come UP Vol. 3.1 featuring Jon Connor + Klass Witta K + Kevlaar 7 + The Spit Spat Boys + Suport + DJ Dean Martian. An amazing Michigan Hip Hop showcase featuring the return of Jon Connor, who you may remember from dope performances at West Michigan festivals like: Hip Hop 4 Haiti, T-Rex Fest, and Rock The Rapids. Or you might remember him from countless other shows all around our market. Perhaps you read about him in XXL, saw him in BET's The Back Room on 106 and Park, heard one of his various radio appearances, or watched one of his incredible videos... Jon Connor is blowing up. 18+ / 8:00PM / $5 in advance, $8 day of show

 

Saturday, November 3: Wintersleep + Elliot Brood + Valentiger. Winners of the 2008 Juno Award for New Group of the Year, we welcome from Nova Scotia, Canada the indie rock five piece, Wintersleep. Once having shared the stage with Paul McCartney, the band is fresh off the release of their fifth album, Hello Mum, and amidst their North American tour following their three week long tour of Europe.  18+ /8:00PM/$10

 

Sunday, November 4: G.Love and Special Sauce + Giant Panda Guerilla Dub Squad. Do we need/say more? With a countless number of accomplishments to hang their hats on and currently nearing a total of 20 years of service, G.Love and Special Sauce enters The Pyramid Scheme with the assurance to provide an enjoyable evening full of funky bluesy hip-hop. The Philadelphia three-piece will rock your socks off.  18+/7:30PM/$25

 

Friday, November 9: David Bazan Band plays Control by Pedro the Lion.  Well known for his emotionally driven, detailed lyrics, the indie-rock singer/songwriter, David Bazan, was the lead singer and brains behind the band, Pedro the Lion. In celebration of Pedro the Lion’s vinyl reissue and 10th anniversary of the album “Control”, Seattle native Bazan and his band are set to play the album in it’s entirety. A cannot miss!  All ages/7:00PM/$13

 

Saturday, November 10: Sailor Jerry presents… King Tuff + Gap Dream. Fresh off the releases of his self-titled album and Screaming Skull 7-inch, the power-pop/soul rocker, Kyle Thomas aka K.T. aka King Tuff and his trademark guitar, Jazijoo, take center stage at The Pyramid Scheme alongside his touring bandmates Magic Jake and several members of the band Audacity. 21+/8:00PM/FREE with guest list confirmation. Sunday, November 11: Craig Owens + Bearcat. Come enjoy the evening as Michigan’s own Craig Owens and fellow Chiodos bandmate and keyboard player, Bradley Bell take the stage. Owens has been part of the bands Isles and Royals, Destroy Rebuild Until God Shows, Cinematic Sunrise, The Sound of Animals Fighting, and is most recognized for his frontman role in Chiodos. All ages/7:00PM/$12

 

Thursday, November 15: Skeletonwitch + Havok + Mutilation Rites + Jowls. The heavy metal band, Skeletonwitch, of Athens, Ohio, headlines the U.S. Abomination Tour as it invades Grand Rapids. The five piece band, signed to Prosthetic Records, was an opening act for Danzig’s Blackest of the Black Tour and were featured on all of the dates of Ozzfest 2010. All ages/8:00PM/$12

 

Friday, November 16: Signal Path + Flashclash. Known for their unique live experience, Signal Path stretches genres by blending live instrumentation with produced music to create a heavily low-ended and rhythm fueled melodic sound. Part of one of the most explosive electronic scenes in the country, the Denver-based band consists of guitars, basses, drums, mandolins and the bajo quinto.  18+/8:00PM/$10

 

Saturday, November 17: Collie Buddz + New Kingston + Los Rakas. Raised in Bermuda, Collie Buddz is currently one of the hottest reggae fusion artists in the scene. Most well known for his 2007 single, “Come Around”, off his self-titled debut album, he blends hip-hop, Soca, and dancehall with his reggae roots to create a sound that which has transformed him into an international star.  18+/11:00PM/$15

 

Monday, November 19: Other Lives + Indians + The Soil & The Sun. Nearing the end of what would have to be considered a successful year, consisting of opening for Radiohead during the first two months of their North American tour, playing Coachella Festival, and touring Europe, Other Lives makes its way into the heart of Michigan. Looking ahead, the band is preparing to record their new album during the winter/spring of 2013. From Stillwater, Oklahoma, The Pyramid Scheme is proud to welcome the indie folk rock five-piece, Other Lives.  All Ages/7:00PM/$12

 

Wednesday, November 21: Heavier Than Air Flying Machines. Grand Rapids’ own HTAFM, a bold brain and booty stimulating post-punk trio that are creating a buzz in West Michigan with their kinetic live shows, will tear up The Scheme on Thanksgiving Eve for you and all your relatives in town to stuff themselves. Come rock on the busiest bar night of the year. 18+

 

Thursday, November 22: Retro D’Luxe Thanksgiving Party. DJ Jef Leppard brings the monthly throwback dance party of favorites from the 80s and 90s, along with any newish tracks that have an ol' school flavor! Come dance off all those mashed potatoes you ate! 10:30 PM / $2 / 21+

 

Friday, November 23: Killer Mike + Convotronics + Lady Ace Boogie. Having made his debut on Outkast’s 2000 LP Stankonia, appearing on the single “The Whole World”, and featured in movies “20 Funerals, Idlewild, and ATL, Killer Mike has made a name for himself in the rap game. His single, “A.D.I.D.A.S.”,  from his debut album, “Monster” in 2003 peaked at #60 on the Billboard Top 100 and he has made multiple guest appearances with a countless amount of artists, that of which include Yelawolf, Young Jeezy, TI, Bone Crusher, Jay-Z, Bubba Sparxx, Ying-Yang Twins, and Talib Kweli. 18+/8:00PM/$12

 

Saturday, November 24: Bars of Gold. Hailing from Ferndale, Michigan and an absolute favorite in Grand Rapids, we welcome back post-punk heavyweights Bars of Gold, a combination of members of former legendary underground bands Bear vs. Shark and Wildcatting. 18+/8:00PM/$7
