Pitch:

On Tuesday, December 9th, from 9AM - 11AM at the Grand Rapids Downtown Market, there will be a semi-public forum entitled "New Americans: A Dialogue on the Impacts of Immigration in West Michigan."

This is a public forum organized by the Great Lakes Leadership Academy through Michigan State University Agriculture Extension.  We have invited Bing Goei, local businessman who started Eastern Floral, and currently serving as Director of the Center for New Americans (formed under Governor Snyder in 2013) to speak about the ways in which immigration issues impact West Michigan from a social, economic, and educational standpoint. We have several panelists who will be joining Bing Goei, who are experts in the field of immigration law, justice, and social equity.

Along with Bing Goei, panelists include:

LIZ BALCK, Justice For Our Neighbors
ERIN BLACKWELL, West Michigan Refugee Cultural & Education Center
HUGO CLAUDIN, LINC Community Revitalization Inc.
SUSAN IM, Im Law
ALEXANDER ROSEAN, Anderson Economic Group
