Pitch:

In the wake of the fall of Borders Books, and amidst independent booksellers accross the nation closing their doors citing technology and eBooks as reasons for lackluster sales, one local independent bookstore embraces technology and "logs in".

Last year, Schuler Books implemented a monthly "Tech Talk" event that became increasingly popular as dedicated eReader sales gained momentum. Then, over the holiday season, sales of dedicated eReaders skyrocketed to record numbers.  And Schuler Books responded.

A great number of Schuler's  customers received dedicated eReaders as gifts for the holidays - many of which have shopping carts tied to some of the larger "big box" stores.    These loyal customers still wanted to be able to purchase their eBooks through their local independent bookstore (www.Schulerbooks.com) - and didn't know how to configure their reader to do this. Increased demand and requests from readers started rolling in.  Schuler Books & Music responded to these requests by offering a personalized service to its customers - eReader Concierge Service.

Now, customers can schedule a FREE personalized e-reader set up with an aptly named "Gadget Guru" at any Schuler Books location.  Bring in your own device and chat one-on-one with someone who can guide you through the entire process – from shopping to reading - and everything in between.

Schuler Books & Music is a locally-owned and independent bookstore with 5 locations throughout West and Mid Michigan.
