Keiffer and Friends Rescue is announcing to the West Michigan community this week the coming of our new rescue center a rescue center of the future. This rescue center will be opening up to the public March 2017. We are still in the design and fundraising stages. We need the west Michigan dog loving community help with this project. Along with letting the public know there is going to be a new great resource for them to find resources to help and also for them to come to if they need our help. We need their help with raising awareness for the center and also donations from the community as well. We are trying to raise $300,000 over the next few months to hit our goal and our ultimate goal for the center is to raise $6 Million by the start of 2016 which can be done if we get the community involved and aware of the center and what and how it will benefit the community and that is where the media will come in to help us out with that. The Rescue Center will be located right here outside of Grand Rapids Area. The center will be different from your normal shelter in that the dogs will not being normal kennels they will be housed in what we call "Dog Suites" they will be 70 square feet which gives them room to relax, play, eat, and creates a area for them to be less stressed which is our ultimate goal to create a center where the dogs feel welcome. After all they are coming into a new very big place from either a home of their own or the shelter so we want them to adjust very well with colors on the wall that promote calming and a room for them that will be their own with no fencing or bars of any kind. The center will also have a maternity area for mothers that are expecting to put them in a even more relaxing area to promote healthy puppies when they come. Then once those puppies are of age to leave their mothers they will be moved to our puppy room which will have other dogs of the same age range so they can be with others their size which is less scary to them and also learn with others their age which will also help when they go to their forever home as they will be ready to be around others and socialized by the time they leave us. The center will also have a community education center to be used to educate the community on animal related issues and also public awareness it can also be rented out by others in the animal community and the general public for rental as a dog birthday party or other reasons. We will have a indoor and outdoor play area weather depending so the dogs can get exercise no matter what. We will have two training areas again inside and outside that will be used to train the dogs in the center and also to hold public training classes as well. We will have a full vet exam rooms and also a surgery center to perform needed procedures. The center will be a great addition to the community for a number of reasons outside of a home for those that need us the most. We will be setting aside up to 15 Dog Suites of the 50 that we will have for the local rescue community to use and rent from us for a very low monthly fee of about $50 a month or by the week if they need it. We know how hard it is as a small rescue to have to tell someone that you are not able to take their dog and they must take it to the shelter because we do not have room for them or can not find a foster for them so we are going to let them use one of our great Dog Suites until the dog finds the home that it needs. We will also be providing services to the low income community by providing Free basic training and puppy preschool to make sure that the dogs in the community have proper training. We will then provide them with $10 spay and neutering and $5 yearly needed shots to ensure that the dogs are healthy no matter what. Our main goal is to try everything that we can to keep four legged family members in their homes and to make sure that money is not the issue that will separate them from a home that is already loving. We will also be working with the Kent County Animal shelter pulling dogs that are in danger of being put down and giving them a second chance at a life in a real forever home. We are going to try and help them reduce the almost 60% rate at which dogs are put down for what ever reason.  So please we need your help west Michigan to making this center a reality to the community as it is very much need we do not want to let another dog get put down or a family having to be separated from their family because they can not afford to get him or her the shots that they need so please go to our Facebook page and our fundraising page and give all that you can to save a dogs life and make The Rescue Center of the Future a reality for all to use and for dogs to be able to find a loving and caring furever home.

The center will be open to all dogs of all breeds. We started our rescue over a year ago with the intention of just rescuing Pit Bulls as they were in need of people to help them in large masses and they also needed someone to advocate for them. Throughout the year and much research we felt that when we open our Rescue Center that just like you or I do not want people to treat us different just by the way that we look. Dogs are the same way they all just want one thing and that is a caring, loving, and loyal home just like the rest of us and they will give you the same thing. So this center will be open to all and that is where Keiffer's Rescue Center came from now.
