Grand Rapids Skatepark Fundraiser

On Sunday, June 20th, a non profit group will be holding a skate competition fundraiser in Rosa Parks Circle on a temporary skatepark construction. The Clemente Skatepark committee is hosting this event with the support of several sponsors, including local skate shop Premier Skateboarding. There will be a great amount of entertainment throughout the day for those skateboarding including a best trick, high ollie, and game of skate competition as well as a large portion of open skate times for donating participants. Other elements of the event include live music, fantastic Hispanic food, prize giveaways and raffle items.

The event is free to anyone who will not be skating, and a $10 donation is required for those interested in participating. All donations and entry fees, aside from the high ollie competition, will be donated directly to the construction of Grand Rapids' first free public skatepark that will include a rain garden and community garden within. The high ollie proceeds will be going directly to the Helen Devos Children's Hospital.
