Note from Josh: If any Rapidian reporters are interested in reporting on or reviewing this show, feel free to let me know - I'd be happy to give access to a late rehearsal or something like that, and I'm sure that the actors would be happy to talk about their experience putting this show together. It's my first real show as a director, and I'm trying to get as much publicity out for it as possible. Thanks!
This January, Dog Story Theater’s namesake play will return in a startling new production, directed by Josh Boerman, of Edward Albee's The Zoo Story.
It's a Sunday afternoon in New York's Central Park, and Peter (Matt Hubers) is enjoying his regular afternoon reading and relaxation time on a bench. Into this space arrives Jerry (Tony Ditta), who has been to the zoo and wants to share his experiences with Peter. As their conversation develops, the two strangers develop a unique relationship with life-changing implications. Alternating rapidly between fast-paced dialogue, restless movement, and musings on life, human relationships, and mankind’s connection to the world we live in, The Zoo Story is a dynamic story every bit as relevant now as when it premiered more than fifty years ago.
Tickets will be $5 and the show will run on Wednesday and Thursday, January 25 and 26 at 8pm.
Presented at Dog Story Theatre, 7 Jefferson Ave SE.
