(Grand Rapids, Mich.- December 1, 2011) --- The Grand Rapids Public
Library and the Humane Society of West Michigan have partnered on a book
launch of /Hadley's Happy Ending /by Sue Stauffacher. The book is the
story of Hadley, the cat who was burned in 2009 in a horrific case of
animal cruelty. The picture book chronicles his accident, recovery and
eventual adoption into a loving home. In celebration of the book's
release, there will be a reading and book signing for families on
Saturday, December 10 at 2 pmat the Grand Rapids Public Library --
111Library St, NE.

Children's book author, Sue Stauffacher, will read and sign copies of
her book,/Hadley's Happy Ending, honoring the heroic volunteers and staff at the Humane
Society of West Michigan. Copies will be available for purchase with proceeds benefiting
HSWM's ongoing rescue and rehabilitation work. Hadley and his new owner
will be guests of honor at the event.

Sue Stauffacher is the author of more than a dozen books for children,
almost exclusively for Knopf and Crown Books for Young Readers, an
imprint of Random House Children's books. Animal Rescue Team, her most
recent series, is filled with entertaining and educational stories about
a family of urban wildlife rehabilitators who work closely with their
Humane Society-perfect for young animal lovers. Sue lives with her
family and her beloved companion animals, Sophie and Tillie, both
adopted from the Humane Society of West Michigan, as well as her rescued
cat, Fig. Sue is donating 100% of her profits of her new book to benefit
the Humane Society of West Michigan's efforts.

The book launch for Haddley's Happy Ending will take place on Saturday,
December 10, 2011at 2:00 pmat the Main Library -- 111 Library St NE.The
