I would like to alert you that after nine years of existing only online, Child1st Publications LLC will be opening its first retail store in Grand Rapids, MI on Friday, August 21 from 4 – 6 p.m. at 2221 Plainfield Ave NE, Grand Rapids MI 49505.
Child1st Publications is an educational publisher that specializes in creating multisensory math and reading resources designed specifically for right-brained learners, including visual and kinesthetic learners, those labeled with dyslexia, autism, Asperger’s, auditory processing disorder, and ADHD.
I can arrange to set up an interview with Sarah Major, CEO of Child1st Publications. Child1st Publications to have grand opening of Grand Rapids store
GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – Child1st Publications, a Grand Rapids based educational publisher dedicated to creating reading and math resources for struggling learners, will have the grand opening of its first retail store, located in Grand Rapids, MI, Friday, August 21 from 4 – 6 p.m.
“We have been at our location in Grand Rapids for two years now,” said Child1st CEO Sarah Major, M.Ed. “We want to become more involved in our community and the first step is to open our doors to the public. Currently, Child1st’s products are only available for purchase online and we are excited to change that.”
Child1st products are designed to stimulate multiple areas of the brain at once, allowing for better comprehension and retention in visual-spatial and kinesthetic learners. Its products range from sight worlds with pictures to a right-brained math series.
“Educators only reach about 15 percent of students using traditional teaching methods,” Major said. “By incorporating right-brained teaching resources, teachers are able to reach an entire classroom.”
While Child1st does business at a global scale, the opening of its Grand Rapids store will benefit local children who may be struggling with reading or math. Educators and parents will be able to come into the store, view products, and receive recommendations based on learning style. Currently, Child1st products are only available online.
Child1st Publications is located at 2221 Plainfield Ave NE, Grand Rapids, MI 49505. Normal store hours run 9:30 a.m. – 5 p.m., Monday – Friday. The event will be comprised of a ribbon cutting ceremony at 4 p.m., product giveaways, face painting for children, and light refreshments.
