Nowadays, it’s all about marketing and how well you do it. We have all seen many examples of great businesses with amazing products that fail over time because they don’t know what to do when it comes to marketing. And we’ve also seen low quality products sell unbelievably well thanks to great marketing techniques.

All of this shows us that the right marketing strategies can have a huge impact on the future of a business. As a matter of fact, whether a certain business has a future at all depends largely on what it does in terms of marketing.

A lot of business owners believe that successful marketing campaigns have to be expensive in order to work and they use that as an excuse to not even try. While large budgets do help, it is also true that most of the times it is more about creativity than it is about money. With that being said, let’s take a look at some of the most effective inexpensive marketing strategies today:

1.Film and publish videos

Creating and publishing videos regularly is a great way to start your marketing campaign. YouTube.com is the third most visited website in the world after Google and Facebook and everybody can use it to express themselves. Publishing videos is essential for many businesses, but only a small number of them actually do it.

A video doesn’t have to be a commercial. It has to be helpful. If you are selling products of any kind, it would be great to publish video reviews of those products. A video can give customers a better idea of what they are buying. Take the popular website Vat19.com for example. They sell toys and make video reviews of almost all of them. Their YouTube channel has more than 840,000 subscribers and their videos get anywhere from 200,000 to 1 million views on average. But be careful – simple reviews might not be enough. You will have to be creative and funny if you want to really attract attention.

2.Giveaways

Giveaways come in all shapes and sizes. One of the best ways to do a giveaway is to ask customers to share or like your Facebook fan page, refer friends or basically do anything else you can think of and give a prize to one or more of them after a certain period of time. The beauty of this is that the prize doesn’t even have to be expensive. Most of the time, people will participate just because there is a chance to get something for free.

You can also offer customers free samples of your products. “Try before you buy” is probably one of the oldest marketing strategies and it still works like a charm. Social media is agreat medium for such giveaways and contests so make sure you take advantage of it.

3.Distribute leaflets

Many people nowadays, believe that leaflet distribution is simply not worth it. This, however, is far from the truth. The truly professional companies make use of the advancement of technology by tracking their employees by GPS and supervisors to make sure they are actually doing their job. This ensures that all leaflets will be given to potential clients and the ones that are not distributed will be given back to you. A great way to save money is to look for a company that will design your leaflets free of charge when you order distribution and printing.

The most important thing in marketing has always been creativity. Remember that you don’t need a big budget to have a successful marketing campaign if you can be creative and just let your imagination loose.
