Contact:

Pitch:

On December 10th, The Pyramid Scheme is holding a charity benefit called TEAMwork: A Night of Dance and Drag for Diversity for The Tolerance, Equality, and Awareness Movement (TEAM), a federally tax-exempt human rights organization operating in West Michigan for the advancement of a 21st century human rights agenda.

The benefit will feature bands BangCrush, Bearcat and Ty Beat. There will also be an hour-long drag show, hosted/performances by seasoned drag queen entertainer and TEAM President Chris Surfus (Britney Storm), Dalylah Desmond, Ariez Iman, Karina Passion, and Kaurora Fox, a silent auction and DJ Mister Squid.

The benefit is being organized by Pyramid Scheme interns Amber Albanesi from GVSU and Whitney Potter from GRCC. And yes…that’s right! TEAM’s President Chris Surfus is a drag queen with over five years of experience, who also co-chaired the 2011 Network Neighborhood Bash, drag show, and pageant! This is definitely an event you won’t want to miss. Save the date!

The TEAMwork: A Night of Dance and Drag for Diversity benefit will feature completely local entertainment, with a focus on electronic/dance music. There is a suggested $5 cover/donation at the door. Tickets can be purchased here in advance.

The Pyramid Scheme is generously giving TEAM 100% of the door cover, in addition to the Silent Auction. There will be a variety of items that guests can bid on, in addition to all of the fabulous entertainment. Any donation made to TEAM is 501(c)(3) federally tax-deductible. This is a great way to get a tax-deduction right before the end of the year, and support a fantastic charity in the process.
