On Tuesday, August 26, Sushi Maki will celebrate their grand opening in the Grand Rapids Downtown Market by offering customers 50 percent off on classic rolls and sushi.
Sushi Maki, a new, fresh-casual sushi bar, serves more than 30 types of maki rolls, sashimi and salads made on-site, as well as mochi and Japanese soda. The menu includes lunch specials, such as two rolls for $8 and three rolls for $12. Salads on the menu include seaweed salad, avocado salad and squid salad. Sashimi choices include red snapper, red clam, squid, mackerel and octopus. And special rolls include “Kiss of Fire” roll, with spicy tuna, spicy salmon, yellowtail, jalapeno and sriracha, and the “Viking Roll,” with shrimp tempura, avocado, cucumber, spicy kani and eel sauce.
“We started with a soft opening a few weeks ago, and the response to our presence in the Downtown Market so far has been tremendous,” said Shun Chen, Sushi Maki co-owner. “We can’t wait to see what the future holds.”
The restaurant also has catering services available for parties and gatherings. Party trays range from $30 to $80, and can include a mix of sushi, sashimi and maki.
