The American Red Cross of Greater Grand Rapids is hosting a meeting for a new Red Cross Club on Monday, February 10 at 4:00 p.m.
The Red Cross Club is open to anyone in Kent County between the ages of 13 and 18 years old. The first meeting will take place at the American Red Cross office located at 1050 Fuller Ave. NE in Grand Rapids. Subsequent meetings will take place every other Monday from 4:00-5:00 p.m. at the same location.
“We are excited to get this Red Cross Club up and running,” said Sam Tidwell, Regional CEO of the Red Cross of West Michigan. “The American Red Cross has been around for more than 130 years and we’re eager to get a new generation involved and engaged with what we do in our communities and beyond.”
The club is a group that provides teenagers with opportunities to make a difference by addressing their community’s greatest needs and developing leadership skills. Red Cross Clubs empower its members with knowledge and life-saving skills to help prepare schools and communities to respond to emergencies.
