Friday night marks the first of five neighborhood “Go Times” that ArtPrize organizers have structured for our community to go deeper and wider in their ArtPrize adventure.
Go Time participants are able to go on a scavenger hunt within the neighborhood. Participants meet at a common location, receive their instructions and a free map, and are off to explore. The first 100 people who return two hours later having seen five neighborhood venues will be rewarded with an ArtPrize-commissioned neighborhood MAC bar from Mary Ann Chocolates. This event is part scavenger hunt, part race, and a unique way to discover parts of the ArtPrize neighborhoods that may not otherwise get noticed.
The Go Time events work with another new feature in ArtPrize this year, the “top 25 by neighborhood” list.
As with many aspects of ArtPrize, blink and you might miss them: the first Go Time starts at 6 pm tonight on the Westside.
I can’t wait to visit my neighborhood venues, explore the art and artists off the beaten path, and savor my Westside MAC bar: dark chocolate energized with chipotle chili and lime. Sweet and spicy is a perfect way to describe this community where I live and work and play, and what better way to experience it than to taste it.
Go Times provide the first way to explore my neighborhood and the others. The following week, visitors will have another way to enjoy and explore the various neighborhoods-so keep your eyes out for Neighborhood Days coming soon.
