Parks Alive, an initiative spearheaded by Friends of Grand Rapids Parks, works towards the goal of organizing and empowering individuals in order to represent and sustain the various parks throughtout Grand Rapids' many neighborhoods.

Individuals can get involved on multiple levels including volunteering for group activites in specific parks, becoming a Parks Alive Leader (PAL) or by becoming a sponsor.

PALs help organize projects and sponsorship events. Sponsors can donate dollars to support a variety of causes from park benches to tree groves in amounts ranging from as little as $50 to $3,000.

Contact Steve Faber if you are interested in becoming a sponsor.

Contact Kyle Vanstrien if you are interested in becoming a PAL.

The Rapidian, a program of the 501(c)3 nonprofit Community Media Center, relies on the community’s support to help cover the cost of training reporters and publishing content.

We need your help.

If each of our readers and content creators who values this community platform help support its creation and maintenance, The Rapidian can continue to educate and facilitate a conversation around issues for years to come.

Please support The Rapidian and make a contribution today.
