On Saturday, May 17 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Well House will be hosting its second annual plant sale located at 600 Cass Avenue SE. There will be over 1,000 plants available to choose from with varieties ranging from heirloom tomatoes to herbs. All plants are grown without using pesticides, are non-GMO and are from heirloom seeds.

Plants will be available for $2 a piece and any extra donations are appreciated. All proceeds go towards the funding of the Urban Garden Project

The Urban Garden Project is a Well House initiative with a threefold mission to grow food on Well House properties in order to provide produce for tenants, increase accessibility to fresh foods for neighbors and for sale at Well House farmers market and local restaurants. The farmers market is on Thursdays and begins in July.

The Urban Garden Project operates under a food justice ethos that advocates access to healthy food as a basic human right.
