MFP to Open Doors to Students and Community
Grandville, Michigan, Monday, September 29, 2014 – MFP Automation Engineering will host an open house at its manufacturing facility located at 4556 Spartan Industrial Dr., SW, Grandville, Michigan to celebrate Manufacturing Day 2014. The open house will be held on Friday, October 3 from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm and is open to members of the West Michigan-area community.
MFP Automation Engineering manufactures power units and manifolds among numerous other products for a plethora of industries. The open house will give visitors a behind-the-scenes look at the start to finish process of designing, engineering, and producing an industrial product throughout the 20,000 square foot facility. MFP Automation Engineering is a family-owned business that first opened its doors in 1991 and has continued a tradition of hard work, inventiveness, and a customer-first mentality. The manufacturer and distributor has an on-site Parker Hannifin store and specializes in customization.
Studies show that almost 80 percent of Americans believe manufacturing is important to our economic prosperity, standard of living, and national security. Yet only 30 percent of those surveyed would encourage their children to go into manufacturing careers. This is a trend that must be reversed and which Manufacturing Day seeks to address by giving more people an opportunity to discover what modern manufacturing environments are really like.
Manufacturing Day is an annual event that brings together hundreds of manufacturers in North America to host students, teachers, parents, job seekers and other local community members at open houses designed to showcase modern manufacturing technology and careers. A panel of co-producers comprising the Fabricators & Manufacturers Association, International (FMA), the National Association of Manufacturers (NAM), the Manufacturing Institute (MI), the National Institute of Standards and Technology’s (NIST) Hollings Manufacturing Extension Partnership (MEP), Industrial Strength Marketing (ISM), the Science Channel, and American Made Movie provides the support necessary to coordinate this nationwide array of simultaneous events.
