Pitch:

Grand Rapids, MI – Local startup Pushpic has just released its app in the Apple App Store for open beta. Pushpic delivers its users recent and nearby content from people and places nearby. Those posts are shown in the Pushpic feed as photos and videos and organized by location and category. Users can follow their friends and places they like and will get notified with a push notification when they push nearby. The app has already seen over 2,500 downloads.

“Simply put, Pushpic is trying to make local discovery easier and more fun than ever,” says Co-Founder, Lance Beaudry of Grand Rapids. “We are using Facebook page content to create an initial, valuable experience for users, but the true value will come when businesses start using the Pushpic app itself. We understand the time and money pain that comes with marketing and setting up a deal with a third party company. We want to eliminate that pain and much more. Businesses can offer deals and promote events and specials simply by taking or uploading a photo or video. It’s free and it’s easy.”

Pushpic wants Grand Rapids area restaurant and retail businesses to know about its platform. The Pushpic team is offering the first 50 businesses to contact them a lifetime of free premium features (that will be introduced in the future) for joining early and helping the discovery platform get off the ground. “We are constantly working to improve our discovery engine. We have some exciting features and design enhancements in store for the next couple of months. We just need a little ‘push’ right now,” says Beaudry.
