7-9 pm
Dispute Resolution Center of West Michigan (DRCWM) is pleased to announce its second annual event celebration of International Conflict Resolution Day on Thursday, October 15, 2015, from 7-9 pm at the B.O.B.-EVE, 20 Monroe Ave. NW in Grand Rapids, Mich. Tickets are $35 per person. The event's theme is ‘Give Peace a Chance,’ and guests are encouraged to wear their favorite ’60s fashion. Attendees will enjoy tasty treats, a cash bar, 50/50 raffle, networking opportunities, and live ’60s music by The Main Street Dueling Pianos.
Outstanding peacemakers will be recognized at this event. The purpose of Give Peace a Chance is to raise funds and elevate awareness of the DRCWM’s existence; the organization provides low- and no-cost mediation services to help people resolve disputes and restore relationships within and outside the court system.
DRCWM serves seven Michigan counties: Kent, Ionia, Lake, Montcalm, Mecosta, Newaygo, and Osceola. Its services bring groups and individuals together to create their own solution for a win-win resolution in the workplace, schools, communities, and in the home. DRCWM is part of a network of independent Michigan community dispute resolution centers.
The 501(c)3 nonprofit's mission is to "bring peaceful resolution to conflict by providing expert and affordable mediation services." Information about the types of mediation offered may be found on the organization's website. Sponsorship opportunities are still available.
