Frivolous Follies Vaudeville Show to Benefit Local Cat Rescue
Local performers put together a night of vaudeville entertainment for a great cause

GRAND RAPIDS – On Saturday, March 4, the Frivolous Follies are hosting “Spring It On” at the Wealthy Theatre. This vaudeville variety show features more than 25 singers, dancers, burlesque acts, comedians and more. The show is intended for those 18 years of age and older.

The event is the brainchild of Amy McDaniel, a Grand Rapids resident with a background in vocal performance and theater. Having participated in theater since she was just eight years old, McDaniel wanted to put together something unique that would showcase the wealth of talent in the Grand Rapids area while giving back to the community.

“Vaudeville is an inspiring performance tradition that brings together talented performers doing what they do best,” said McDaniel. “As a vintage vaudeville theatre, the Wealthy Theatre is the perfect place to showcase all of the amazing talent that Grand Rapids has to offer. It’s sure to be a great night of entertainment on behalf of a great cause.”

Proceeds from the show will benefit Carol’s Ferals, a Grand Rapids-based feral cat rescue organization. Carol’s Ferals assists community cat caregivers with “Trap, Neuter, Release” programs and support services. They also adopt out friendly cats and kittens identified through the program.

This is the second Frivolous Follies show to benefit a local animal group. The previous show benefited Hearts of Hope.
