Dominican Center at Marywood invites you to come out on the evening of Tuesday, February 18, to celebrate ecumenical and interfaith studies and dialogue. This two-hour event begins with a brief presentation by each of the four panelists (pictured above) on a theme common to the represented faith traditions.
This is followed by a discussion among dinner companions, where you will dine at round tables comprised of persons from varying faith traditions. After the common meal and table group discussions, a whole-group Q & A (question and answer) period ensues that includes and invites program participants to engage the panelists in dialogue.
With respect to all religious dietary customs, only vegetarian meals will be served. (If you or someone in your group has other special dietary needs, call us at 616.514.3325 and we will work with you to accommodate your specific needs.)
The topic of the evening on February 18 is The Family of Abraham: Ancestors in Faith. As numerous as the stars in the sky and the sands on the seashore, we are the descendants in faith of the family of Abraham. How are Abraham, Sara, Hagar, and Ishmael remembered in the different faith traditions?
Dialogue, understanding and respect are the first steps toward peace. Take these steps with us by participating in Tuesday Tabletalk on February 18 at Dominican Center. We will, together, hear the stories of the represented Abrahamic religions; and in so doing, we hope to inspire an understanding and respect of our shared ancestry.
