In this week’s segment of GRTV’s NPO Showcase, Jim Paparella, President/CEO from D.A. Blodgett St. John's shares how the organization strengthens family bonds, and helps connect youth with alternative housing solutions.
D.A. Blodgett St. John's goal is to keep families intact whenever possible by providing counseling services to children and their families with programs ranging from pregnancy counseling, young delinquent intervention, children with developmental disorders, in-home counseling, and more. They also coordinate mentoring services such as Big Brothers Big Sisters, and young mother mentoring.
For situations where immediate intervention is necessary, such as family abuse and neglect, D.A. Blodgett St. John's offers residential services for youth that need alternative housing. They also connect youth with foster care families, and provide a variety of adoption services and resources. Beyond connecting children with the care they need, D.A. Blodgett St. John's provides educational resources for individuals interested in adoption or becoming foster parents.
Community members can get involved by joining a planning guild, volunteering at the residential program campus, or by making a donation.
