NPO Showcase Tours New City Neighbors

NPO Showcase

NPO Showcase is just one of the many ways that the Community Media Center serves the nonprofit community. For information about this and other CMC services for nonprofits, or to schedule a future interview, contact Nonprofit Outreach Coordinator, Anna Geurkink, at 616-459-4788 x105 or email [email protected].

Arriving at the New City Neighbor Farm and Cafe is an experience in itself. Once you leave your car you are welcomed by the smells of good food and a beautiful fully equipped farm. You walk into the cafe and are greeted by a middle school aged host and you sit down amidst patrons of all ages enjoying their farm to table meal. You look to your left and you see the farm and to the right is the kitchen where teens from the neighborhood are hired to go through a youth program where they learn business skills, culinary art, and farming while getting payed as an employee. The food is all prepared at the cafe using the farm's ingredients. It gets even better-you can join their co-op and receive fresh veggies all season long. To find out more about Cafe hours and the organization visit www.newcityneighbors.org for more information.
