In partnership with the YMCA, Cooking Matters for Families is a six-week nutritional education program that fights hunger by teaching families how to make healthy food choices on a budget. Families will learn how to select nutritious and low-cost ingredients and prepare them. Cooking Matters provides recipes, books, and a bag of groceries containing the ingredients of the recipes learned. Parents and their children between the ages of 6-12 attend the class together. Class size is limited and registration is required. Participants must have a Grand Rapids Public Library card and commit to attending all six sessions. Register at grpl.org/register.
