This Saturday, June 22, Monroe Center will be closed between Ionia and Division to host a "chalk flood." The event runs from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The chalk flood is open to all ages and skill levels and this year includes a chalk art competition, providing prizes to the best creations. Prizes will be awarded to the winners in Men's and Women's (for adults) and 1st, 2nd and 3rd place prizes for children.

All the chalk needed to compete is provided. Citizens are urged to join in this creative takeover of the streets, join in the fun and compete for some great prizes from downtown businesses.
