INTERVIEW
Independent journalist Amy Goodman, executive producer and host of the news program Democracy Now!, stopped in Grand Rapids this week as part of a 100-city national speaking tour during this 2012 election season.
The tour celebrates the release of her new book, co-authored with Denis Moynihan, called “The Silenced Majority: Stories of Uprisings, Occupations, Resistance, and Hope.”
Goodman’s stop in Grand Rapids at Wealthy Theatre was also a part of her supporting community and public and television and radio stations, and served as a fundraiser for Community Media Center.
We had opportunity to interview Amy Goodman while she was here Tuesday. We’re featuring that interview in this episode of Catalyst Radio, along with an excerpt of her talk at Wealthy Theatre.
Community Media Center is airing Amy Goodman’s Grand Rapids talk in its entirety on LiveWire TV channel 24 over the next week, beginning with today at 5:30 p.m. It is also airing at 1 p.m. on Sat., Sept. 22, 7 p.m. on Tues., Sept. 25, at 2 p.m. Wed., Sept. 26, at 9 p.m. Thur., Sept. 29, and 1 p.m. on Fri., Sept. 28.
Democracy Now! airs on more than 1000 public and community radio and television stations, including on CMC’s LiveWire channel 24 – live at 8 am. weekdays, and rebroadcasts at noon and midnight.
