The best part of being part of The Rapidian is that there's no one way to do it! Whether you want to write, read or support, there's a place for you in our newsroom.

Write for The Rapidian
Got a story to tell? The Rapidian Reporter program empowers Grand Rapidians to write hyperlocal news through trainings, mentorship and paid opportunities. You don't need to be a pro — just a local with something to say. Whether you're covering neighborhood events, highlighting hidden gems, or digging into something, this is your platform. We'll give you the tools and support to help your voice be heard in Grand Rapids?

Ready to get started? Make an account on therapidian.org and fill out this interest form. A Rapidian staff member will reach out to you shortly.

Become a GR Documenter
Want to be in the know and make sure others are too? The Grand Rapids Documenters program shines a light on what happens at local city meetings where big decisions are being made weekly. It's as easy as attending a meeting, taking notes and helping everyone stay informed. We train (and pay!) GR Documenters, so no experienced required — just a curious mind and a commitment to transparency.

Become a Documenter today. Sign up here and attend our next orientation.
