CARE Ballet presents "Carnival of the Animals"

Saturday, February 06, 2016

11am & 3pm Saturday, 3pm Sunday

Waltzing elephants, wrestling donkeys, comical turtles, and more, spark the dreams of a young boy in the whimsical ballet “Carnival of the Animals.” Creative Arts Repertoire Ensemble (CARE), a local non-profit ballet company, will present three public performances (Feb. 6-7) at St. Cecilia Music Center in downtown Grand Rapids. The performances are one hour in length, making them perfect for young audiences.

“ ‘Carnival of the Animals’ features a young cast from the Grand Rapids area and is a perfect show for all ages,” said CARE’s Artistic Director, Judy Genson-Wadsworth. Based on the children’s book, “Carnival of the Animals,” by John Lithgow, this family friendly ballet is set to the classical composition by Camille Saint-Saens. Audiences are encouraged to meet the cast on stage following the performance.
