Join us to celebrate the release of Dennis Hinrichsen's latest book, Skin Music: A Memoir, on October 22, at 6:30 pm at Great Lakes Commonwealth of Letters. Dennis will be joined by Cindy Morgan Hunter; they will both read their work. This event is free. Please come and help support local authors!
Dennis Hinrichsen’s most recent works are Skin Music, co-winner of the 2014 Michael Waters Poetry Prize from Southern Indiana Review Press, and Electrocution, A Partial History, winner of the Rachel Wetzsteon Chapbook Prize from Map Literary: A Journal of Contemporary Writing and Art. Both will appear in 2015. Previous books of his have won the Akron, FIELD and Tampa Poetry Prizes. New poems can be found in The Adroit Journal, Fogged Clarity, Four Way Review, Ghost Town, Memorious, Michigan Quarterly Review and Radar as well as a number of recent anthologies including Poetry in Michigan/Michigan in Poetry, and Best of the Net 2014.
Cindy Hunter Morgan is the author of two chapbooks. The Sultan, The Skater, The Bicycle Maker won The Ledge Press 2011 Poetry Chapbook Competition. Apple Season won the Midwest Writing Center's 2012 Chapbook Contest, judged by Shane McCrae. Her poems have appeared in a variety of journals, including West Branch, Salamander, and Sugar House Review. She teaches creative writing periodically at Michigan State University and lives in East Lansing.
