Homestead Holiday Festival 2011

Grand Rapids, MI – Homestead Holiday Festival, a unique family-friendly event, will be hosted at Blandford Nature Center on December 10, from 12 p.m. until 5 p.m. Enjoy a peaceful winter day and experience what the holidays were like in simpler times a hundred years ago.

This event will prove to be educational and fun for the whole family. A horse-drawn wagon ride, complete with the soft twinkling of sleigh bells and carol singing, will run throughout the day for visitors to enjoy. Children can make their own traditional holiday crafts, such as cookies, ornaments, and handmade cards. Blandford’s Wildlife Education Center, featuring our resident birds of prey, will be open. Authentic historical 19th century pioneer cabin and blacksmith shop will also be open for visitors to view various demonstrations. Hot beverages and baked goods will be available.

Blandford’s Homestead Holiday Festival is on Saturday, December 10, from 12 p.m. until 5 p.m. The cost of the event is $5 per person, kids two and under are free.

Blandford Nature Center is a 501(c)(3) non-profit charitable organization located in Grand Rapids, Mi. The mission of Blandford Nature Center is to change lives through fun and engaging learning experiences in the natural world.
