3rd annual LadyfestGR brings The Blow to Grand Rapids, offers free educational workshops

On Saturday, March 22nd the third annual LadyfestGR will take place in downtown Grand Rapids. LadyfestGR is an annual grassroots celebration of women in our community through multi-faceted educational workshops and diverse performances.

The daylong event will begin at 12pm with workshops that are free and open to the public, followed by a variety show at 6pm featuring local female talent. At 9pm doors will open for the late show portion of the event, featuring electro-pop and performance art duo, The Blow. All proceeds from the event this year will be donated to the women’s programs provided by The Grand Rapids Red Project.

The free workshops will be held at three different Heartside neighborhood locations: The Pyramid Scheme, Have Company and the Calvin College 106 Gallery. These unique workshops will cover topics like Totally Tubular Bike Repair, Women in Government: a panel discussion, Rock Your Drum Kit, Organizing 101 and more. All performances are being held at The Pyramid Scheme. More information on workshops and scheduling can be found online at
