“HealthyU” Lecture Series at Covenant Village of the Great Lakes

Get an Alzheimer’s primer when Joy Spahn, MPA, regional director of the Alzheimer’s Association Greater Michigan Chapter (West Michigan region) presents “Alzheimer’s disease: The Current Science and Research Behind Finding a Cure” as part of this month’s “HealthyU” lecture series at Covenant Village of the Great Lakes, a faith-based, not-for-profit continuing care retirement community administered by Covenant Retirement Communities.

The presentation will take place Monday, April 13, 2015. Coffee and refreshments begin at 9 a.m., followed by the presentation at 10 a.m.

Spahn has more than 30 years of experience working with older adults with Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias. She’ll provide an overview of the disease, including risk factors, symptoms, diagnosis and treatment. She’ll also share information about brain health and whether Alzheimer’s is a preventable disease.
