With ArtPrize 2010 right around the corner, we at UICA thought it would be fun to look back on one of our artists from 2009 - Kurt Perschke. Kurt Perschke is an artist who works in sculpture, video, collage and public space. His most acclaimed work, Red Ball Project, is a traveling public art project that has taken place in Barcelona, St. Louis, Portland, Sydney, Arizona, Chicago, Toronto, and Grand Rapids and received a National Award from Americans for the Arts Public Art Network. Perschke continues to develop new projects, and is currently working on an multi-city tour of a social sport broadcasting event, called Arena Pod. Born in Chicago, Kurt Perschke has also lived in the Virgin Islands, St. Louis, Vienna, and Cairo, Egypt. He currently lives and works in New York City.
