We build community when we share our stories - whether they be a memory, an experience or just simply telling what we think is great about this place. STORY MATTERS. is a story collecting project from The Rapidian and GRTV.
The Rapidian's story fort made an appearance at the "Break it Down, Make it Better" event, put on by the Avenue for the Arts and hosted by the Urban Institute for Contemporary Art (UICA) on Saturday, March 1. Kate Lewis move to Grand Rapids and felt very welcomed, especially by the support and events through Avenue for the Arts. She talks about what she enjoys about the Site:Lab, ArtPrize and Free Radical events, and shares what she looks forward to in the future. She talks about the opportunities in her new city, and says Grand Rapids just feels like home.
You can see all the Story Matters videos archived at therapidian.org/placematters/story.
The Rapidian, a program of the 501(c)3 nonprofit Community Media Center, relies on the community’s support to help cover the cost of training reporters and publishing content.
We need your help.
