St. Cecilia Music Center (SCMC) presents the final Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center concert of the season entitled “Delight and Drama” on March 23, 2023. Four-hand piano pieces will bring musicians as close as they can get to the ultimate in collegial music-making. The piano trio, with just one additional musician, generates all the excitement and passion of an entire orchestra. Romantic composers Brahms and Arensky will bring the full range of these two genres for listeners to experience during this special evening that begins with the wonder of childhood and ends with Brahms at the height of his dramatic powers. CMS artists performing on March 23 include Pianist Wu Han, recipient of Musical America’s Musician of the Year Award, the highest honor bestowed by the organization, as well as Pianist Wu Qian, winner of a 2016 Lincoln Center Emerging Artist Award. Internationally renowned artists Violinist Bella Hristrova and Cellist Dmitri Atapinewill also highlight this evening of excellence.
Executive & Artistic Director of SCMC Cathy Holbrook says, “During our final Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center concert this season the audience will experience the excitement and drama of four-handed piano performances featuring Pianist & Co-Artistic Director of CMS Wu Han and Wu Qian a Lincoln Center Artist award winner. We are anticipating a fabulous evening with all four of these incredible Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center artists performing in the exquisite Royce Auditorium at St. Cecilia Music Center.”
