Each week the Volunteer Center will highlight an exciting skill-based volunteer opportunity found on our Volunteer Solutions website. This week's opportunity comes from Home Repair Services:

Skilled volunteers are needed to teach a community class on home maintenance topics such as drywall, plumbing, electrical, floor coverings, roof or porch repair. Many other topics are offered.

An updated class schedule can be found on the Home Repair Services web site. Classes change each week and average 10 -15 people. Classes topics are taught on Saturday in English at 10:00-12:00 and the same topic is repeated in Spanish on Saturday afternoon, 12:30 - 2:30 pm.

This job is for those who enjoy passing on knowledge and skills to others who desire to improve their homes and lives. Teaching experience not required.  All supplies and props are provided in a dedicated hands on classroom.

To learn more or sign up to volunteer, please view the Volunteer Solutions listing for this opportunity.
