This year, for The Rapidian's third annual spring fund drive, over 28 local restaurants and businesses have provided gift certificates to their establishments. These gift certificates, used to thank donors at the $25 level and up, provide a great way for The Rapidian to give back to their investors.
Many of the gift certificates have already been claimed, but thanks to the extensive generosity of the business owners behind our local economy, there are still plenty of options available.
The fund drive ends this Friday with a goal of raising $20,000 to help support The Rapidian's efforts to invest in the community. Without donor support, The Rapidian would no longer be able to continue providing a platform for all voices in our community. With a citizen journalism platform, investing in The Rapidian means investing in media democracy, free speech and a chance to connect communities and increase engagement and involvement in placemaking efforts and other needs throughout the city.
Gift certificates available range from $10 to $100. Donors investing $25 or above can select their gift certificate from a drop-down option. At time of print, the below establishments still have gift certificates available to thank our donors:
The Rapidian also wants our investors to have a way to show off their support. For all donors giving $10 or more, we've created a "civic investor" sticker so that you can show off your investment in our community.
Thanks to support from our community, The Rapidian will be able to continue providing a platform for all voices in Grand Rapids, and providing the news you want about your local community.
But we can't do it without you.
Invest now.
The Rapidian, a program of the 501(c)3 nonprofit Community Media Center, relies on the community’s support to help cover the cost of training reporters and publishing content.
We need your help.
If each of our readers and content creators who values this community platform help support its creation and maintenance, The Rapidian can continue to educate and facilitate a conversation around issues for years to come.
Please support The Rapidian and make a contribution today.
