The Love Movement is a new movement in town that is asking residents to come to their workshops and learn more about timebanking! What is Timebanking? Well it is simply a modern bartering system. For every hour you spend doing something for someone in your neighborhood, you earn one Time Dollar. Then you have a Time Dollar to spend on having someone do something for you. The system is monitored online!

If you would like to be apart of the Time Banking movement, you can attend FREE community engagement classes which will cover the subject of timebanking and teach you how to be involved. Classes are currently held every week on Wednesdays at 3:30pm, at the new Lifequest Ministries building (formerly Oakdale Christian Elementary) on 1050 Fisk ST SE, Grand Rapids. For more information please contact Marques Beene at 616.821.7610 for more details!

The Rapidian, a program of the 501(c)3 nonprofit Community Media Center, relies on the community’s support to help cover the cost of training reporters and publishing content.

We need your help.

If each of our readers and content creators who values this community platform help support its creation and maintenance, The Rapidian can continue to educate and facilitate a conversation around issues for years to come.

Please support The Rapidian and make a contribution today.
