We are looking to fill positions by late January.

Here at The Rapidian, we are moving forward in full force to continue developing the growth of community journalism, an important part of the community. There are so many exciting things we hope to introduce to our readers and reporters in the coming weeks and months. With this growth, we’ve come to realize that a few extra helping hands could go a very long way. We decided it was time to revamp the internship postings on our website, and now we want to share these opportunities with you. These positions are not just for writing or journalism majors, we want to extend an invitation for all majors at all local colleges to apply as well as the general public of non-students. We're looking for passionate people that can liven up the Rapidian world in their own way, and yes, writing chops are also expected for most of the available positions. I urge you to think outside of the box, though, as it takes more than writing genius to be influential in community journalism. We are excited to start the new year with some new people on board so check out the opportunities below:

Innovation Community Reporting Intern

The Rapidian is seeking an innovation community reporting intern that will build relationships with local innovation and entrepreneurial hubs to build up our Innovation Spotlight section.  Applicants with a keen interest in finding out not only what is happening now but learning about the history of innovation in the area and who was behind the story are encouraged to apply. Learn more about the specifics here.

Beat Intern

The Rapidian is seeking a beat intern to build a core community of citizen journalists reporting on content from one specific area of interest. Currently, The Rapidian is in need of starting a local music beat and a local writers beat for the winter/spring (but we're always coming up with new ideas and would like to hear yours as well). Applicants interested as much in building a community as they are in building content are encouraged to apply. Learn more about the specifics here.

Bureau Intern

The Rapidian is seeking a bureau intern to engage nonprofit organizations and their groups of reporters in creating content for The Rapidian. This intern will be responsibile for building important relationships with bureaus, reporters and The Rapidian. Those interested in building strong communities of writers are encouraged to apply. Learn more about the specifics here.

Advertising and Marketing Intern

The Rapidian is seeking an advertising and marketing intern to develop relationships with businesses who have an interest in advertising with The Rapidian. This intern will be responsible for checking in with existing advertisers and empowering business owners by training them on the use of the Rapidian website. Learn more about the specifics here.

Content Intern

The Rapidian is seeking a content intern with a strong interest in reporting. The content intern will cover assigned news stories, immediately publishable, and create evergreen pieces to be published at The Rapidian’s discretion. Learn more about the specifics here.

Bilingual Intern

The Rapidian is seeking a bilingual intern (Spanish & English) that can demonstrate strong speaking, writing, and listening skills in both Spanish and English . This intern will be responsibile for building and implementing learning tools for our Spanish speaking audience as well as making articles available in both languages without compromising the content of the work. Learn more about the specifics here.

The Rapidian, a program of the 501(c)3 nonprofit Community Media Center, relies on the community’s support to help cover the cost of training reporters and publishing content.

We need your help.

If each of our readers and content creators who values this community platform help support its creation and maintenance, The Rapidian can continue to educate and facilitate a conversation around issues for years to come.

Please support The Rapidian and make a contribution today.
