Media Personalities Showcase Talents to Support Girl Scouts

Girl Scouts of Michigan Shore to Shore announces the premier of That’s Entertainment, a special fundraiser showcasing West Michigan media personalities’ hidden talents. The event is on Thursday, October 29, 2009 from 6-9:30pm at Wealthy Theatre (1130 Wealthy SE). That’s Entertainment will feature local celebrities from TV, radio and print entertaining the crowd with their special talents. From singing to juggling to dancing there is no limit to the creative acts our media celebrities will have up their sleeves. This is a rare opportunity see your favorite media moguls putting their best foot forward to support leadership development for West Michigan girls. Local Girl Scouts will take part in the show as well, working on the stage crew, presenting the performers and taking part in the acts. Jennifer Pascua (WZZM 13), “Flounder” (Thunder 94.5), Terri DeBoer (WOOD TV 8), Smita Kalokhe (WXMI FOX 17), Todd Chance (105.3 Hot FM) and Shelley Irwin (WGVU) are just a few local personalities who will give it their all for a good cause. The evening begins with hors d'oeuvres and drinks at 6pm and the show follows at 7pm. “This is a unique event unlike West Michigan has ever seen. We are so grateful for our friends in the media for doing their part to support girls,” said Karen Micklatcher, Chief Executive Officer. “I think people will be surprised at our local celebrities’ hidden talents on showcase at the event.” For nearly 100 years, Girl Scouts has served our community as the preeminent organization dedicated solely to girls. Today, Girl Scouts of Michigan Shore to Shore proudly carries on the Girl Scouting legacy to 20,000 girls and 4,500 adult volunteers in the 30-counties of West, Northern and Northeast Michigan. In Girl Scouts, girls find a safe place to grow and share new experiences, while developing leadership skills and self-confidence. Tickets for That’s Entertainment are $30 per person. Proceeds benefit Girl Scout programs that build girls of courage, confidence and character.
